Symons Bus accepts both contactless tap on/tap off and cash on all services. Fares are calculated based on the number of sections travelled. Return tickets are double the single fare.
💳 Contactless Payment (Tap to Pay)
Tell the driver your destination when you board. The driver will calculate your fare and you can pay by tapping your bank card, smartphone, or wearable device.
💵 Cash
Cash fares are accepted on all services. Tell the driver your destination and pay on boarding. Exact change is appreciated.

What is a section? Sections are distance-based segments defined and set by Symons Bus and Coach Service for each route. The number of sections between your boarding and alighting stops determines which fare band applies to your trip.

The RED ticket gives eligible concession holders unlimited travel on all Symons Bus services for just $2.50, valid until midnight on the day of purchase. Purchase from the driver on boarding — you must present your valid concession card each time you board.
Eligible cards: Pensioner Concession eCard (NSW, VIC, or ACT) · NSW and interstate Seniors Card · War Widow/ers Card
