Symons Bus is committed to providing accessible travel for all passengers. We operate under the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (Commonwealth) and welcome passengers with disabilities, mobility needs, and accessibility requirements on all of our services.
Step-free bus access
We have step-free, low-floor buses available for passengers who require easier boarding — including those travelling with wheelchairs, mobility walkers, prams, or who have difficulty with steps.
To ensure a suitable accessible bus is available for your trip, call our office at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to arrange the right vehicle for your journey. Walk-up accessible travel cannot always be guaranteed without prior notice.

Travelling with a mobility aid or wheelchair
Passengers travelling with a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or other mobility aid are welcome on Symons Bus services. Please contact us before your trip so we can confirm the vehicle dimensions and securement available, and ensure everything is in place for safe travel.
For general guidance on travelling with mobility aids on NSW buses, visit the Transport for NSW accessible bus travel page ↗.
Assistance animals
Trained assistance animals — including guide dogs, hearing dogs, and other recognised assistance animals — are always welcome on all Symons Bus services. This is a right under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Commonwealth) and no prior notice is required.
Assistance animals must be harnessed, leashed, or otherwise under control. For more information on travelling with an assistance animal on NSW public transport, see the Transport for NSW assistance animal guide ↗.
Planning your journey
The Transport for NSW Trip Planner includes an accessibility filter for passengers with mobility or accessibility requirements. You can filter results to show step-free options and get turn-by-turn directions.
Timetables and documents
Our timetables are available as PDF downloads from the Timetables & Services page. PDF files can be opened directly in any modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) or any PDF viewer — no additional software is required.
If you need a timetable in a different format or require assistance reading one, please contact our office and we will do our best to help.
Accessibility feedback
We are always looking to improve accessibility across our services. If you have a comment, suggestion, or experience you would like to share, please get in touch:
