What This Sign Means
This sign is governed by NSW Road Rule 143. It is only legally permitted on vehicles that are 7.5 metres or longer — such as buses, semi-trailers, B-doubles, and road trains. The sign is a warning that the vehicle needs extra room and may use lanes you are driving in to complete its turn.
Turning Left
When a long vehicle is turning left and has its left indicator operating, you must not overtake or pass on the left — even if there appears to be space alongside the vehicle.
Turning Right
When a long vehicle is turning right and has its right indicator operating, you must not overtake or pass on the right. The rear of the vehicle will swing left as it turns, cutting across lanes.
In this situation, it is generally safe to wait and pass to the left once the vehicle has completed its turn — but only if the road ahead is clear.

One-Way Streets
On a one-way street, a long vehicle displaying this sign may also use two lanes to turn left or right. If it is 7.5 metres or longer, it may even turn right from the lane immediately to the left of the far right lane — rather than from the rightmost lane. Allow extra space and do not attempt to pass during the manoeuvre.
